Our Story

Hello,

We're the Sew Your Stash gals. We are the Mother/Daughter duo Mary Jo Stringham and Emily Ashdown (together we make a great St-ash). From a very young age Emily grew watching her mom sew, spending countless hours by her side or going through her stash to find fabric for her barbie doll clothes. Mary Jo instilled a love for fabric, thread, and all things quilting in Emily that grew into an addiction. We've always enjoyed a trip to the fabric store or getting together to sew. Then Mary Jo upped the game by purchasing a Longarm machine. We both had dreams of longarm quilting and the rest was history. We love doing this, even more we love seeing our clients creativity and love that is put into quilt and helping them finish those projects so they can replenish that stash and get to the business of quilting another.

Mary Jo

Mary Jo lives in Utah with her husband and nearby kids and grandkids. Mary Jo has been sewing all her life. She enjoys coordinating her city's local Quilt show every June. In May of 2016 she received Honorable mention for her quilt "Tea at Pemberly" for the Riely Blake Challenge at the UQSM(formally HMQS) She pieced the quilt and it was the first one she had ever entered into a competition it was auctioned off for charity and now hangs in the halls of Handi Quilter headquarters. When not at her machines she loves to garden, enjoys time with her family and collecting pieces for her stash.

Emily

Emily also lives in Utah with her family. She has been Sewing for most of her life with her focus for the last 8 years being on quilting. She was an emergency dispatcher for 9 years before deciding to be a stay at home mom and fulltime longarmer. She is an admitted fabri-holic, it is her happy place. She loves perusing fabric stores, baking (gotta have sewing snacks right?), spending time with her family going on new adventures and late nights spent with netflix and her sewing machine.
